University Opera Theater

University Opera Theater. (Music 160).  Directed by Sheila Willey, UCSC Opera presents a fully-staged opera with orchestra, costumes, sets, and lighting each year. Singers gain valuable stage experience, preparing and performing full roles and singing in the opera chorus. Auditions for vocalists take place during fall quarter. This class is also open to experienced student designers, choreographers, and stage managers (by permission of the instructor) who work side-by-side with design professionals at the top of their field.
