Ensemble Parallèle :: Ensemble Parallele Artistic Director Nicole Paiement made her Dallas Opera debut as conductor for their production of Peter Maxwell Davies' The Lighthouse.

Ensemble Parallele Artistic Director Nicole Paiement made her Dallas Opera debut last month, serving as conductor for their production of Peter Maxwell Davies' The Lighthouse. Three performances were held March 16th through the 18th at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theater in downtown Dallas.

The Lighthouse  is based on the mysterious disappearance of a trio of lighthouse keepers off the Scottish coast. Dallas Opera's production starred Andrew Bidlack, Robert Orth, and Daniel Sumegi; and was directed by Kevin Moriarty.

Both the production and Nicole's conducting received high praise from critics. Here's what the reviewers had to say about Nicole's work:

Operagasm wrote, "...enough cannot be said for Nicole Paiement's Dallas Opera debut. Paiement conducted this difficult piece with incredible ease and precision."

Theater Jones raved, "..the real star of the production is conductor Nicole Paiement. She conducted the complex score with such feeling and understanding that every one of the myriad of time-signature changes vanished into a free-flowing score."

Congratulations Nicole!
