The Western Art Music Minor

Students may complete a minor in music by fulfilling the following requirements:
1. Music 11A (formerly Music 11)

2. Music 30A/L, B/M, C/N - first-year theory (entrance requirement: Music Core Curriculum Placement Examination or by passing Music 14 with a final exam score of 80% or higher)

3. One of the following: Music 120, 130, 180A or 180B

4. One of the following: Music 101A,B,C or D  (music history)

5. Six quarters enrollment in Music Department ensembles or instrumental/vocal lessons, or a combination of lessons and ensembles (at least three of these must be upper-division) totaling 6 quarters (the electronic music sequence Music 123, 124, and 125 fulfills 3 quarters)

All examinations, except the Music Core Curriculum Placement Examination and Advisory Audition, are waived.
