Practice Rooms

Overview

Music Center Practice rooms are provided for music department students, and if available, to the UCSC campus community needing to rehearse on instruments or voice.  During the school year (Fall-Spring), a sign up sheet is posted on each general practice room (on the first floor of the Music Center).  The practice room may be available on a first come first served basis, if when you stop by, the rooms are not reserved or being used.  

• Each general practice room has an upright piano or a clavinova available for use.

RESTRICTED USE PRACTICE ROOMS: The Grand Piano, Drum Set, & Percussion practice rooms are restricted to use by current Music Department students actively enrolled in lessons with one of the associated department piano/drum set/percussion faculty. Enrollment is subject to the instructor’s studio capacity, which may vary quarterly. Music majors/minors with a curricular need for lessons will receive top priority.

SUMMER SESSION: Music Center practice rooms will be closed for the summer as of Monday, June 16th. If you are an enrolled music student however, you may contact Dave Morrison (davemorr@ucsc.edu) or Susan Gautieri (susang@ucsc.edu) to request access, though times will be limited to when staff are present.
