Arts Dean’s Fund For Excellence & Equity
The Arts Dean’s Fund for Excellence and Equity (ADFEE) is dedicated to supporting the dissemination of student research. Qualifying projects must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. This fund is supported entirely through the generosity of our donors, and remains open as long as funding is available. Funds are administered through the Office of the Dean of Arts. Offered three times per year.
University of the Future, Now!
The University of the Future Now! grants come from Dean Shimizu’s own start-up funds. Grants encourage students to participate in the division’s aspirations to lead the nation in diversity, equity, and inclusion through the Arts. Applications due in December.
Arts Professional Pathways Internship Scholarship
Arts Professional Pathways supports successful student application and placement in internships. Funding provides basic needs funding to Arts students accepted into internships to enable equal access to career opportunities. Applications due in May.
Other UCSC Funding Opportunities
Reyna Grande Scholarship
The scholarship is for creative projects—involving arts, writing, or other creative media work—intended to advance the standing and visibility of Latinx culture and history. Scholarship recipients’ proposed work should aim to promote positive outcomes for communities identifying as Latin American or Chicana/o American, to challenge conventional narratives about Latina/o/x identity, and/or to strengthen conversations about Latina/o/x identity. Undocumented students are highly encouraged to apply.
Graduate Division Fellowships & Financial Aid
UC Santa Cruz is committed to helping graduate students find the support they need to make their studies successful. The following kinds of financial support are available through the Division of Graduate Studies; 5/2 year Graduate Student Funding Packages, Housing Supplement, Regents Fellowships, Chancellor’s Fellowships, Eugene Cota-Robles Fellowships, Native American Opprotunity Plan, and more.
Deans’ and Chancellor’s Undergraduate Research Awards
Deans’ Awards are granted to 50 of the most outstanding undergraduate research theses or projects completed during the current academic year, 10 from each of the academic divisions. Chancellor’s Awards are granted to the the top three Deans’ Awards projects in each academic division.
