Douglas Repetto, a New York-based, multi-media artist, has been collaborating this quarter with sixteen students in the graduate seminar (called "John Cage: Innovation, Collaboration, and Performance Technologies"). He will be giving a DANM colloquium on his work next Tuesday, May 24th, between 4 and 6 p.m. in the DARC building Light Lab (DARC 306).
About the artist:
Douglas Repetto is an artist and teacher. His work, including sculpture, installation, performance, recordings, and software is presented internationally. He is the founder of a number of art/community-oriented groups including dorkbot: people doing strange things with electricity, ArtBots: The Robot Talent Show, organism: making art with living systems, and the music-dsp mailing list and website. Douglas is Director of Research at the Columbia University Computer Music Center.
