Scholarship Opportunities for Entering Undergraduates
The Music Department at the University of California at Santa Cruz is offering a variety of scholarships, ranging from $1000-$5000, for incoming undergraduate musicians in the 2012-2013 academic year. Strong performers are encouraged to apply. Awards are available in categories as follows:
Voice
Winners of these scholarships will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of vocal ensembles.
Woodwinds
Winners of these scholarships will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of chamber music ensembles and larger ensembles.
Brass
Winners of these scholarships will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of chamber music ensembles and larger ensembles.
Strings
Winners of these scholarships will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of chamber music ensembles and larger ensembles.
Piano, Guitar, Percussion
Winners of these scholarships will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of chamber music ensembles and larger ensembles.
How to apply:

Fall quarter applicants who wish to be considered for a music scholarship must submit an audition rccording to the Music Department no later than January 31, 2012:

Admission to the program is contingent upon your official acceptance to UC Santa Cruz (information is available at - https://admissions.sa.ucsc.edu/ ).
Guidelines:
The recording should contain at least two solo pieces in contrasting styles, preferably from different historical periods. Label the recording clearly with your name, address, e-mail, phone number, instrument, and the composers and titles of the works included.
