UCSC Chamber Singers: Poesie en Musique An Evening of French Music

Join UCSC advanced choral ensemble, the Chamber Singers, and conductor Nicole Paiement for an evening of French choral music through the ages.

The evening will include the American premiere of Philippe Hersant's delicate Poèmes Chinois, featuring Michael McGushin at the piano; the rarely performed Messe des Morts by Marc Antoine Charpentier; and the colorful Chant des oiseaux by Clément Jannequin.

The evening brings together many faculty performers including sopranos Patrice Maginnis and Greta Feeney-Samuels, tenor Brian Staufenbiel, and continuo player Linda Burman-Hall, along with guest artists mezzo-soprano Michele Rivard, baritone Elliot Nguyen, and Amy Brodo, continuo/cello.

Tickets will go on sale in October at santacruztickets.com, the UCSC Ticket Office, and the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium box office.
